This is a moderated community for Pirates of the Caribbean Fan Fiction/Fanart. There are not too many rules here, but please read the following just so you know what's going on:

FIRST OF ALL, MEMBERS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE or OLDER.

WARNING: Fic and Fanart in this community MAY be ADULT-ORIENTED. We accept all ratings from Kindergarten-safe through XXX. If this is unacceptable to you or you are underage, this is your cue to step away from the pirates.

DO NOT POST EXPLICIT SEXUAL CONTENT WITH PREPUBESCENT CHILDREN HERE. IT WILL BE DELETED AND THE POSTER WILL BE BANNED.


THE CODE

1. ALL PAIRINGS/SHIPS/RPS/FPS/HET/SLASH are welcome here. This be an all-inclusive community. Furthermore, it is not acceptable to use headers as a tool to inspire or provoke shipwars, nor is it acceptable to use ANY OTHER MEANS to denigrate any particular 'ship or pairing. If the mere sight of a header featuring a slash story is likely to set you off, I respectfully suggest this is not the right forum for you. Repeat ALL-INCLUSIVE. Ten times. Good pirates!

2. ABSOLUTELY NO FLAMING YER FELLOW CREWMATES! I mean this. BE POLITE AND BE RESPECTFUL OF ONE ANOTHER'S WORK. Do not go looking for shipwars or any other kind of wank. Do not read if you do not like. We expect you all t'be gentlemen of fortune, as it were, not to mention adults. Remember PIRATES DON'T WANK. At least not the fandom sort of wank. The other kind is always welcome.

I feel it necessary to emphasize these points. We all have our squee. Don't harsh someone else's. I won't have shipwars in this community.


3a. GUIDELINES FOR POSTING FICTION

A) ALL fic must have disclaimers, ratings and appropriate warnings. A good blueprint is below.

Ratings are as follows:

Gen: romance, kisses, ivory-mild swearing
PG: kisses and mild swearing
PG-13: snogging, general piratey violence,'bugger'
R: snogging and non-graphic 'softcore shags, 4-letter wds
NC-17 or X: total debauchery

WARNINGS must be included for non-con, extreme violence, etc. If in doubt, ask the Cap'n or First Mate.

R: Some exposed skin, open-mouth kisses or obvious groping.
NC-17 or X: The whole shebang

ALL art/vids that are R or NC-17 MUST INCLUDE A "NOT WORKSAFE" warning.

For the purposes of this community, I am requiring a disclaimer on all fiction/art/vids. It can be as simple as the one above or more formal, but it MUST BE THERE.


4. All fiction must be beta'd or wordchecked. If you can't pronounce 'egregious', look it up. Get a beta. If you're looking for a beta, put BETA REQUEST in the subject line and keep it short.

5. FANARTISTS, please put 'FANART' in the subject line, with title. WRITERS, please put the title and chapter, if applicable.

6. ALL FICTION and ART MUST BE BELOW an lj-cut. The SOLE exception is drabbles (100 words or less).

7. FANART rated beyond a mild PG-13 is considered Not Work Safe and must include an appropriate warning. That includes VIDS, Mateys!

8. THIS is not fanfiction.net. Missy Mary Sue is not welcome aboard, savvy? No one is trying to ban OFC's, OMC's or anything of the kind BUT NO ONE wants to read anyone's else sexual fantasies as a self-insertion with any canon char. My best advice is to get a beta who isn't afraid to call a spade a shovel. It might behoove those crewman who are reposting from the Pit of Voles to remember that what passes for writing there is unacceptable here in many instances.

9. NO PIMPING, recs, chatter, discussion, news or anything other than FICTION or FANART. Challenge and ficathon mods, contact either [info]hippediva or [info]elessil to okay posting. If you want a discussion board for POTC stuff, go to [info]arrrrr.
